US Customs
When sending to America, every package will pass through customs. If your shipment is valued at $800 or less it will be exempt from duties or taxes. Above that value and the receiver will be billed for any duties or taxes applied.
Packages sent to the US worth $2,500 or more will have to pass through a customs process called formal clearance, which may add a day or two to your delivery time.

Collection & Delivery
Courier Collection
We can collect across the UK and USA, same day from most locations. If you don't want to wait home for collection consider using a convenient drop-off point, saving you time and money.
For bulky parcels over 50kg in weight, or large parcels over 180 cm in length, you will need to book a day in advance, and you will also need to provide the courier with assistance in loading and unloading.
If you're sending a pallet or an item requiring a tail lift or pallet truck, please contact our customer care team prior to pick-up.
USA Delivery
Unless you have booked one of our timed delivery services, delivery is made between 9am and 7pm on working days. If the courier has not arrived by 4pm on the delivery due date, please contact us.
Some couriers such as UPS and FedEx may leave goods un-signed for in a porch of safe place. If you must have a signature, please use the upgrade option 'Signature required' on our 'select service page'.
We do not deliver on public holidays, so if you're sending a gift book early to avoid disappointment.
Tracking your parcel to the USA
At every stage of your package's journey to its destination in America it will be scanned. You will be able to follow your shipment's progress through these scans in real-time right here on the website.
And should your parcel encounter a delay then not only will it show up in your tracking, we'll send both you and a receiver an email to let you know what has happened. Our UK-based customer services team will also be on hand to help get your package moving again.
Sending gifts and personal effects to the USA
As with other shipments, if you're sending gifts to America worth less than $800 you should not have to pay duties or taxes. More expensive items may be subject to charges, or could have to go through formal clearance.
It's important to remember that American customs officers have the right to open and inspect gifts, and are not responsible for tears in the wrapping paper or rewrapping the gift, so it's better to use a gift bag to ensure it looks nice when it arrives.

Excess baggage to America
Sending personal effects to the USA is easy with 's luggage shipping service, however there is some additional paperwork to consider to ensure you don't have to pay customs duty or tax. Be sure to fill in forms as accurately as possible to avoid problems when clearing US customs.
Important points of note:
- When sending personal goods you need to complete an 'unaccompanied articles' form.

- If you're sending electronics to America you must fill in an additional form for the FCC
Sending food to America
Although sending food to the USA via courier requires some extra research and paperwork, can make it a breeze to get your American friends and family a taste of something exotic.
All food being imported into America is subject to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, above and beyond the normal customs clearance. This generally adds at least an extra day onto the customs process. The FDA requires you to give prior notice if you plan on sending food to America.

- b. Items must be in the original manufacturers packaging and unopened.

USA Large Parcel Delivery to the USA
Shipping packages to the USA with means that even large parcels or freight shipments can be sent cheaply and simply. By using our specialist partners like DHL and UPS, offers a cheap option to ship packages that are up to 270cm in length and 1,000 kg in weight, including pallets.

Packaging your Parcel
When shipping to the US, remember your package will be handled multiple times and will be subject to environmental pressures and vibration as it's transported. Proper packaging will help ensure that your goods arrive in America in the condition they left.
There are three key things you need to be aware of when packing your parcel:
1. A Strong Box
Use a new box so you can be confident it is strong enough to survive international delivery. For goods over 10kg we recommend a double-lined box.
2. Carefully Packed
Wrap each item individually, then place more packing materials inside your box, so that all your goods are suspended at least 6cm from each edge. Nothing should move when you shake your full box.
3. Well sealed
Use proper packing tape to secure your box, wrapped in a Union Flag pattern three times in each direction. Make sure all seals and corners are covered for extra protection and that your shipping label is clearly visible.

Can I send furniture to the USA with ?
We are not a removals firm and we will only ship furniture if it is fully packaged and palletised. Furniture is on our list of items which we do not provide compensation for under any circumstances, so be aware that you send it at your own risk.
Can I send eBay items to the USA with ?
