Restricted and Prohibited Items when Shipping to Chile

takes a lot of the red tape out of international shipping, but there are always going to be some rules and regulations which you just can’t ignore.

When it comes to sending to Chile most parcels are welcomed into the country, however there are some goods which won’t make it past customs. This page will help you ensure all your package’s contents will make it to their destination with ease.

Before you start packing your parcel the first thing to check is ’s own list of items which our couriers won’t carry, regardless of destination.

Once you know that we can deliver your shipment, the next port of call is Chile’s Customs regulations. On top of the items won’t deliver, there are a couple of prohibited goods which could catch out the casual sender, these include:

  • Imitations and pirated products, such as knock-off DVDs
  • Items violating Chilean trademarks or copyrights
  • Soil samples

Most of these items are unlikely to make the average Chilean Christmas list, so Chile’s restricted items may be more pertinent to your shipment. These include:

  • Recorded materials – if you send items such as CDs or USBs then not only must you declare the value of the product itself, but also the intellectual value of the contents of the device.
  • Coffee and tea – requires an affidavit form from the Chile Agricultural and Livestock Service

You can see more prohibited and restricted items in Chile here. If you’re still not sure whether your shipment is allowed contact Chilean Customs.
