Pallet Size and Weight Restrictions
Oversized Pallets
can also ship oversize pallets. Pallets that are longer than 1.2 metres or are wider than 1 metre will be charged as double pallets.
Collection
With smaller packages, can often collect on the same day your booking is made. However, air freight shipments need to be booked 24 hours in advance.
For bulky shipments over 50kg in weight, or 180cm in length, you will also need to offer your courier assistance in loading the items into their van. And if your pick-up requires a tail-lift vehicle or a pallet truck, please inform us when making your booking.
Delivery
Freight deliveries are made between 9am and 7pm on working days as standard, however we also offer AM delivery options for urgent global shipping.
As with collection, we can provide a pump truck for unloading pallets and oversized parcels if you request one in advance. You may also have to help the driver with unloading.
All our large and heavy deliveries come with signed-for delivery as standard.
Preparing your pallet for shipping
International freight shipping is a complex process and the best way to make sure that your cargo arrives in the same condition they depart in is to properly prepare it carefully for the journey.
Avoid these common mistakes when loading pallets:
- Not making sure that your shipment is allowed into the country.Some countries, like Australia, do not allow wooden pallets unless they are treated and certified as safe.
- Failing to properly secure the contents to the pallet. Make sure to strap your goods down firmly.
- Sending goods that are too wide for a single pallet, or allowing the contents to overhang the side of the pallet.
- Failing to use enough shrink wrap in the process of securing the contents
Safely Preparing Your Goods on Your Pallet
1. Use a strong, new four-way pallet. Thoroughly inspect it to make sure that it does not have any weakness or damage.
2. Place your boxes on the pallet in straight columns. Ensure that there is no overhang on the edges of the pallet.
3. Secure and support your pallet with strapping and corner supports.

Be generous with packaging throughout the process, as the more protection and support you can provide, the better. Use plenty of shrink wrap, strapping and, if necessary, be sure to add protection to the top of the pallet. Ensure weight is evenly distributed, as unbalanced pallets are liable to topple.
Pallet Tracking
Many of our pallet delivery services include door-to-door tracking, though some of our freight forwarding partners are unable to offer this service. In these cases, we will provide proof of delivery within 24 hours of your cargo arriving at its destination.

FAQ's
Why it is safer to transport large and heavy items by pallet?
During the shipping process, parcels will be handled and loaded multiple times. If your package is bulky or awkward, there is a higher risk that it may be damaged, as they may be heavily placed or dropped. When large or bulky parcels are on a pallet however, they can be loaded or unloaded with a forklift, which significantly reduces the risk of them getting damaged.
Can I ship furniture and white goods?
is not a removals or moving company; we can ship some furniture, but you will not be able to claim if your furniture is damaged. Exceptions may be made if you contact us in advance and we approve your packaging. We can ship large furniture items and white goods, but they have to be palletised.
Why are there surcharges applied to large parcels?
Because there are special requirements when shipping bulky parcels – such as the use of freight vehicles – this costs more for the courier, which means that your shipping costs more.
If I ship on a pallet do I have to pay extra?
Yes, there are surcharges applied for over-size parcels, but we include all applicable surcharges at the point of quote, so there are no nasty surprises.
Can the courier take the goods upstairs?
Our partner carriers will only deliver to your door. That means they will not be able to assist in moving your goods into your house, or upstairs.
Why do I have to provide assistance to the driver for loading and unloading?
Many delivery or collection drivers will be on their own. Health and Safety regulations state that they can only lift packages that weigh less than 30kg. Packages that weigh more than 30kg require two people, so you will need to provide assistance in loading and unloading.
