Prohibited and Restricted Items when Sending to Jamaica

You can’t just send anything to Jamaica – there is a list of items that you are not allowed to bring into the country. In much the same way, has a prohibited list of goods that we don’t allow to be sent. You can see ’s list of prohibited items to see what couriers do not carry.

It’s important to check that what you are sending to Jamaica is allowed into the country. Although some of the items on the list may be common sense, some are more unique. For example, you’re not allowed to send the following:

  • All publications of de Laurence Scott and Company of Chicago in the United States of America relating to divination, magic, cultism or supernatural arts.
  • All publications of the Red Star Publishing Company of Chicago in the United States of America relating to divination, magic, cultism or supernatural arts.

There are also some goods that you will require a permit or permission to import. In order to get a permit for goods like meat, you’ll need to get in touch with the Jamaican customs team.

It’s also important to remember that this isn’t a comprehensive list of all banned goods. If you’re not sure that your package will be allowed into Jamaica, you can check one of Jamaica’s separate lists for items that are prohibited – not allowed under any circumstances – and are restricted – allowed under some conditions.
