Prohibited and Restricted Items when Sending to Vietnam

Although makes it simple to ship to Vietnam, you can’t just send anything you like. There are rules about what you can send by courier; our partner carriers don’t carry goods that they consider hazardous, some of which may surprise you. Restrictions on firearms are common sense, but goods like perfume and batteries are also restricted. You can see a full list of restricted items on ’s Prohibited goods list. In a similar vein, Vietnam have goods that are banned above and beyond ’s prohibited goods, including:

  • Playing Cards
  • Graphite Products
  • Stamps
  • Magnetized Materials
  • Wooden goods of any description from Liberia
  • Satellite Parts

There is also a restriction on used electronics like telephones, computer parts, wireless equipment and computer hardware. These are prohibited from being imported into Vietnam, unless you have an import license from the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam. Contact Vietnamese customs to be sure that you don’t need a permit before shipping your goods.

Bear in mind that this is not a complete list of goods banned from import. Be sure to contact Vietnamese customs if you are not sure that your shipment will be allowed into the country.
