Packing your Package
When you’re shipping internationally, there is almost invariably a couple of bumps or knocks during the shipping process. To make sure that your goods make the journey without being damaged, it’s important to properly protect your goods.
There are three key points to keep in mind when packing your goods.
1. GET A NEW BOX
It can be tempting to try and save money by reusing boxes, but even the sturdiest looking old box can be concealing flaws that lead to it bursting or being crushed in transit. Use a new, double-corrugated box for every shipment.
2. PACK YOUR BOX
Wrap your goods individually. Make sure to use plenty of wrapping to protect your goods. Then place them in your box and surround with packaging material, like Styrofoam peanuts, so no part of your goods touch the walls of your box.
3. SEAL YOUR BOX
Be generous when it comes to your packing tape – using plenty can help protect your box’s weak points. Wrap three times around your box in a Union Flag pattern, and then add your labels so that all information is clearly invisible.

Is there anything I can’t send to Vietnam?
Yes. There are rules about what goods are allowed to be sent by courier, as most couriers will not carry goods that they consider hazardous. This includes things like aftershave which is flammable and batteries containing liquids, which are considered hazardous. You can see all the goods that are not allowed on ’s Prohibited Items list. There are also goods that are banned for import by Vietnam – for example antiques some precious stones, pornography and anti-government literature.
Does it cost more to send to remote areas of Vietnam?
There are some parts of Vietnam that are harder to reach than others, and that is sometimes reflected in the cost. It’s simple to deliver to Ho Chi Minh City, but when your parcel is headed towards Ban Ho or Sapa, things become more difficult.
