When sending to the Philippines, there are two separate ways that the goods will enter the country – Informal and Formal entry. Personal shipments will always pass through informal customs, but for other shipments this is decided by value; generally, items worth less than 2,000 pesos are cleared informally, while goods worth more than that will have to pass through formal entry. Formal entry may require more paperwork for customs, which will produce for you when you make your booking.

There are no exemptions to allow goods to be imported without having to pay duties and taxes, so every parcel will have duties and taxes applied.

Courier Collection

Courier Collection

For many locations across the UK and the Philippines we can pick-up on the day you book. We cannot unfortunately provide an estimated time of arrival for the collecting courier, however we do offer a collection window for most services at the point of booking. If, however the collecting courier has not arrived by 4pm, we recommend you contact us.

We also offer convenient drop-off locations, such as local shops which are open outside office hours. So if you don’t want to wait home all day for the courier to arrive, drop-off locations are extremely helpful.

Delivery of your parcel

Philippines Courier Delivery

Unless you’ve chosen to make use of one of our timed delivery services, your parcel will be delivered between 9am and 7pm Monday to Friday. We can’t narrow that window any further however, so you will need to make sure that the recipient is present for the whole day of expected delivery.

Most of our partner carriers will make three delivery attempts before the package is returned to the sender, so choose a delivery address where you know someone will be in during the day to receive your parcel.

There is a very small percentage of deliveries that encounter delays, and in the unlikely event that something does go wrong, we’ll get in touch with you and your recipient to explain the problem, and how to go about getting it rectified.

There’s no gift exemption from duties or taxes when shipping gifts to the Philippines. That means that every gift shipment is treated as a normal parcel for the purposes of clearing customs – so parcels worth less than 2,000 pesos will go through informal clearance.

Make sure to properly declare the nature of your goods – it’s easy to fall into the trap of declaring a ‘Gift’, but your customs clearance officer will likely require more detailed information, so try and be more specific, such as ‘Chocolates and a dinner set’

Packaging your Parcel

With international shipping there are invariably some small bumps and knocks that are part of any journey. To make sure that your package arrives in great condition, you’ll need to properly protect your goods.

When packaging your goods, there are three main points to keep in mind:

1. GET A STURDY BOX

A box is the most important protective element of a shipment, so make sure that you have a good one. We recommend using a new, double corrugated box for every shipment – an older box may look sturdy, but be concealing weakness that mean your box is crushed or bursts in transit.

2. PACK THE CONTENTS

Wrap each of your goods individually before placing them in your box. Surround with plenty of packaging material, so that no part of your goods are touching the walls of the box. Make sure that there is no movement when you shake the box gently.

3. SEAL IT UP

Use strong packaging tape to seal up your box. Wrap up your box three times in a Union Flag pattern, paying special attention to seams and corners, the weakest part of your box. Add your labels, making sure that all information is clearly visible, and that the barcode is not covered.
