As part of the shipping process, there are invariably a few bumps or knocks to your parcel as it changes hands, vans and planes. To make sure that your goods arrive in the same condition they departed in, it's vital to properly package your shipment.
There are three key steps to packaging your goods:
Although an old box may look sturdy, it could be concealing weaknesses that lead to it being crushed or bursting in transit. To avoid this, use a brand new, double corrugated box – especially if your goods weigh more than 10kg.
Each item in your parcel should be individually wrapped in bubble wrap or other protective materials. You can then place them in the box and surround with packaging materials, so that no part of your goods touch the walls of your box.
Make sure to use plenty of packaging tape, which can support the weak points of your box. Wrap three times around the box in a Union Flag pattern, which supports corners and seals. Add your shipping labels so that all information is clearly visible.
You can. Food is a popular shipment with , and we have plenty of experience making sure that food arrives safely. Just keep in mind that you can't send anything perishable, and all food shipments have to be store bought, not homemade.
Customs charges are levied by the Danish customs agency clearing your package. This is a part of the shipping process that has no control over.
There are some restrictions about what you are allowed to bring to Denmark, as well as rules about what you can send by courier. You can see in our customs clearance section above more information on what you are and are not allowed to send to Denmark.
Like normal parcels, there are no duties or taxes applied on gifts if they are sent to Denmark from another European Union member country. For other countries, there is a gift exemption from duties and taxes for gifts worth less than 335 Krone.
Although it's relatively simple to deliver a parcel to Copenhagen or Aarhus, it takes longer to deliver to some remote areas of Denmark like Skive and Ringsted, where delivery times may take an additional day. takes these into account when calculating your quote, so there are no surprises awaiting you.
