Collection & Delivery

Shipments being collected and delivered

Collection

Whether you're sending from the UK to Australia, or shipping from Australia to the UK, we can collect same day from most locations.

However, if your parcel is over 50kg, or larger than 180cm long, you will have to book a day in advance. For these larger or heavier goods, you will need to provide your pick-up courier with assistance loading or unloading the delivery.

If you're sending a pallet or an item requiring a tail lift or pallet truck, please contact our customer care team prior to collection.

Delivery

With the exception of our timed delivery services, we deliver between 9am and 7pm on normal working days. Most couriers make 3 delivery attempts as standard, however if your sending to more remote areas of Australia such as the Gibson Desert or Bremer Bay, only one delivery attempt will be made.

Some of our partner couriers, such as UPS, may leave a parcel in a safe place without requiring a signature. If you need proof of delivery, please use the upgrade option 'Signature required' on our 'select service page'.

Parcel Tracking

When you book with , we also offer free door-to-door tracking. This means that you will be able to keep up with every step of your parcel's journey to Australia, from the moment that you hand it to a courier until it arrives at its destination. If there is a problem, your package status will change to 'exception' and a scan will notify you of the delay. That way, no matter what happens, you're in the loop. Simply enter your parcel tracking number into our tracking page to get started.

Just to make sure you know exactly what is going on, if any delays occur along the way, we will email you to notify you of the issue and advise you on what steps are required to resolve the delay.

Sending Gifts to Australia

There are no duty and tax exemptions for sending gifts to Australia from the UK, which means that all gifts will go through customs as a normal shipment. They will also be subject to duties and taxes but, like any other parcel, this is not the case if they are worth less than 1,000 AU$.

Do bear in mind when sending gifts to Australia, that customs do reserve the right to open and inspect parcels, and if they do so any gift-wrapping you had may be damaged or removed.

Sending Luggage
or Excess Baggage to Australia

When sending luggage or personal goods to Australia by courier, they are considered unaccompanied personal effects. Unless you meet certain conditions, these are still subject to the same import duties and taxes as a normal parcel. However, if you do meet the conditions then you won't have to pay any import duty or tax when importing personal goods.

Bear in mind that you can only send goods like clothing, footwear and books as personal goods, and sending items as personal goods may add extra time to clear customs. You can help smooth the process by attaching this form to your shipment.

If you want to import luggage or personal goods without having to pay duties or taxes, you have to fulfil all of the following:

  1. Be the owner of the goods and have personally owned and used the goods for at least 12 months before departing for Australia
  2. Have arrived or intend to arrive in Australia, and
  3. Be an arriving person who is a permanent resident (returning to Australia) or a first time migrant from a place outside Australia taking up permanent residency.

Just keep in mind that if your package is heavier than 50 kg, even if it doesn't require a forklift, you will need to book at least 24 hours in advance and may be required to assist in loading or unloading the shipment.

Packaging your Parcel

Sending parcels to Australia means a lengthy journey, and, by the time it arrives, your package will have been handled multiple times. In order to ensure that the contents of your parcel arrive in one piece, it's important to properly package them before they are shipped.

There are three key points to consider when packaging your goods, and by following them you can help ensure that your goods arrive undamaged:

1. USE A STRONG BOX

Get a new box if you can, as used ones can often have weaknesses you can't see. We recommend double lined boxes for anything over 10kg. Also make sure the box is big enough for the contents, stuffing the box with too many items can put strain on the box.

Safely packaging a parcel for international shipping

2. PACK WITH CARE

Make sure all individual items are wrapped separately and suspended in a packing material, such as bubble wrap or parcel peanuts. Completely pack the box with packaging material so the items cannot move around.

3. SEAL TIGHTLY

Use strong packing tape and create a Union Jack flag pattern around your box, going three times around in each direction. Make sure there are no old labels stuck to the outside and that your new shipping labels are securely attached, with all information clearly visible.
