Jersey and Guernsey may be closer to France than England, but that doesn't mean they won't appreciate some great British cuisine if it's sent to them. Shipping food with is simple, just follow the checklists below.
The Channel Islands are aptly named, as they are indeed just a short hop across the Channel from mainland UK. However, even a journey that short has its share of bumps and knocks.
To ensure your goods remain safe on their trip just follow our three simple steps to perfect packing.
The staple of all good packages, buy a new box, to avoid the hidden weaknesses which can come with an old one. For some frequently-shipped items, such as tennis rackets, you can get boxes specifically designed to fit around them.
The end goal here is to have a tightly-packed box which you wouldn't be scared to drop from waist-height. Wrap all items individually and suspend in packaging material with the box, at least 6cm from the inner walls.
Use packing tape and go three times around the box in a Union Flag pattern, so that all seals and corners are covered. Our couriers sometimes carry document wallets you can use for your shipping labels, but it saves time to attach them before collection.
Yes, we can ship to these Channel Islands, they all fall under the GY (Guernsey) postcode area, so choose Guernsey (Channel Islands) when you book, enter the correct postcode and we'll deliver you a quote.
Even on small islands there are some places which are more out of the way than others. Sending a parcel to Brecqhou or Herm may take a little more time than shipping to St Clair or Les Vauxbelets, and with that there may also be a small additional cost. We will factor both these things into the quote we give you, so there will be no unpleasant surprises.
