Since Latvia is a part of the European Union, there’s no need to worry about duties and taxes when your shipment originates from within the EU. For other shipments, there is an exemption from customs fees as long as your goods are worth less than €150, though packages worth more will have duties and taxes applied.
You need to be careful when you’re completing your customs paperwork; if you do not fill out the value and nature of your goods, there may be delays in clearing your customs.

It doesn’t take long to get your delivery started when you are shipping with - after all, we can collect your parcel on the very same day that you make your booking.
That’s not the case for large or bulky parcels however. If you know that your package is particularly heavy, bear in mind that you will have to book a day in advance, and be on hand when your courier arrives to help load or unload your goods.
You can expect your goods to arrive between 9am and 7pm on normal working days. We don’t make deliveries on weekends or public holidays, and most of our couriers will attempt to deliver your goods three times before they are returned to you.
If you want to ensure proof of delivery, then choose our ‘signed for’ option when you book your shipment. That means that someone will need to be present to take delivery.
If you’d like a brief overview of what it takes to deliver a parcel to another country, then there’s more to appeal to you from than you might think. Our real-time tracking service updates every time your parcel takes the next step in the process, so you can see in real time the route it has taken to its destination in Latvia.
And if there is a problem, we’ll email you and your recipient to explain the problem and how to go about fixing it.
Learn more about tracking shipments to LatviaJust like sending a normal package to Latvia, there’s no need to think about duties and taxes when you’re sending a gift from within the EU – because they don’t exist. To take advantage of this gift exemption, be sure to make it clear that your goods are being sent as a gift. Don’t neglect to declare the nature and value of your goods to avoid problems or delays in clearing customs. Be specific when you enter the description, for example ‘Gift of Child’s football’.

There’s always something tasty on hand in Latvia, but sometimes there’s nothing like the taste of home – especially around the holidays. That’s why food is one of ’s most popular gifts, and the reason we’re so proficient at delivering it safe and sound.
There are a few extra rules to keep in mind when you are shipping food internationally, so although we make it simple to ship rice to Riga, sending doughballs to Daugavpils isn’t possible.
There are plenty of horror stories about broken goods, but it’s not as hard to protect your goods as you might think. There are invariably a few bumps or knocks when you ship internationally, so it’s important to make sure that your goods are properly protected.
There are three key points to keep in mind when packing your goods.
The first line of defence when protecting your goods, a new, double corrugated cardboard box can work wonders in protecting your goods. An older box may seem sturdy, but is liable to burst or be crushed in transit.
Wrap your goods individually, so that they don’t damage each other on the way. Then use plenty of packaging material to suspend your goods, making sure that no part of the item is touching the walls of your box.
Use plenty of packing tape; wrap three times around your box in a Union Flag pattern, using plenty of extra tape on the corners and seals – the weakest parts of your box. Add your labels so that all information is clearly visible.
Yes, there are rules about what you can send by courier, as our partner carriers will not carry some goods. If your package contains goods like fireworks, it may be destroyed instead of delivered – check out the full set of restricted goods on ’s Prohibited Items list. There are also rules that are specific to Latvia, like money orders, prescription medication and even antiques. Learn more
There are some areas in Latvia where there are extra charges or delays above normal. This is because it is much simpler to deliver to Riga than it is to deliver to somewhere like Durbe, which is somewhat off the beaten path. This will come as no surprise however – we take these into account when giving you your quote.
