Wherever you might call home, there's always something delectable that you can't get your hands on. So if you've had enough of Ugali, or Nyama Choma and yearn for the taste of home, why not send a food gift to your loved one?
Thankfully, makes it a breeze to ship food as long as you follow a few simple rules. It's important to pay attention, as food is one of the most commonly problematic shipments but don't worry – we have a lot of experience shipping food as it's one of the most popular products we carry.

When you're sending a package halfway around the world, it takes a lot of handling. In fact, by the time it arrives it will have changed hands dozens of times. If you'd like to make sure that your goods arrive in great condition, it's vital to properly package them.
There are three key points to keep in mind while you're packing up your goods if you'd like them to arrive in great condition:
The most important part of packaging is the box itself – a good, new box can be the difference between items arriving broken or in one piece. Old boxes may look sturdy, but could be hiding a weakness that leads to a box bursting or being crushed by other boxes in transit. We suggest a new double ply cardboard box for each shipment, as an old box can become weak.
Securely wrapping your goods in a wrapping material is very important. You should be very generous in doing so – the more you use, the better your goods are protected. Once you've done this, you should place your goods in the centre of the box and surround it with packaging material. Again, you should be generous – there should be at least a couple of inches of material on all sides, and no part of your goods should be touching the walls of the box.
If you're not using a new box, you should make sure to remove any labels that may already be attached. Any information not relevant to the shipment should be completely removed to ensure there aren't any problems in making delivery. When your goods are safely secured, use strong packaging tape – which helps support the box – and wrap around the box in both directions at least three times. Support the corners with further tape – these are the weakest points on a box.

Every package that is sent to Tanzania has duties and customs fees applied, but this is done by the customs department as part of the clearance procedure – this is not a part of the shipping process that has any input during.
Although there are a lot of things you can send to Tanzania, there are also restrictions on what can be brought into the country, as well as what you can ship by courier. Tanzania also restrict the imports that are allowed into the country, so if you're not sure that what you're sending is allowed, make sure to check with them before booking.
